To celebrate Universal Pictures’ release of Wicked, both St Pancras Station and Liberty London have unveiled breathtaking installations inspired by the film. In addition to this, Liberty London has created an Inspired by Wicked collection.
St Pancras’ Wicked Christmas tree
Each year, St Pancras Station creates a stunning Christmas tree and 2024 is no exception. The 11-metre-high installation of the Emerald City includes over one-hundred illuminated towers and 200 lights. At the base of the tree, there are immersive seating areas, the head of the Wizard of Oz, a screen to watch the trailer and messages from the cast and windows to view the to-scale diorama of the land of Oz. Through the windows in the towers further up the tree, visitors will be able to see iconic characters and scenes from the film.
Erika Lewington (Marketing Director at Universal Pictures International, UK & Eire Ltd), explained: “We are delighted to partner with St. Pancras International to bring the world of Wicked to life through this enchanting Christmas Tree. The central London station’s spectacular architecture provided the perfect Ozmopolitan backdrop for this cinematic moment. We hope the wickedly dazzling experience enriches peoples’ journeys and brings a touch of magic to one of London’s most iconic destinations.”
Liberty London’s Wicked Christmas windows and atrium centrepiece
This year, Liberty London has partnered with Wicked to celebrate friendship during the festive season. Working alongside Studio Xag and MXW Studios, Liberty has created wonderous window displays and a breathtakingly giant Wizard’s face which hangs in the atrium.
Liberty London has also created an Inspired by Wicked edit. This collection includes two new fabric designs – Dazzling Osmopolitan and Tulip Harvest.
You can also find other Wicked-inspired items in store, including friendship bracelets by Anni Lu, r.e.m. Beauty’s Wicked themed collection, La Bonne Brosse’s bespoke brushes, Cambridge Satchels and knitwear by Lingua Franca.
