One of the most highly-anticipated events in London’s calendar is the annual Winter Lights Festival at Canary Wharf, which is running until 1 February this year.

About

Now in its ninth year, this year’s Winter Lights follows a trail of twelve breathtaking temporary installations created by artists from across the globe. In addition to this, there are permanent displays to be enjoyed, too.

The Canary Wharf Group explains: “On the boundary between real and surreal, the line-up will take you from a towering stack of bathtubs pulsing with light and sound, through to Westferry Circus where you can encounter a mesmerising tornado of lights orbiting a pylon, immerse yourself amongst panels of sari fabric and luminous threads on Wren Landing, be dazzled by an iridescent mirage on Montgomery Square, experience a bird in flight and be transported through a portal in Wood Wharf. Finish off the tour at our newly opened Eden Dock, where you can marvel at a 20m wide sink hole encircled by light.”

Be sure to stop at Mmy Wood Wharf where you will find an excellent variety of street food and drinks.

The trail runs each day until 1 February between 5pm and 10pm and is free to visit. A map is available to download here.
