Clocks go back this Sunday! When and why do we have BST and GMT in the UK?

Don’t forget that at 2am on Sunday morning, clocks in the UK will ‘go back’ by an hour, taking us from British Summer Time (BST) to Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). This continues the tradition which started in 1916 when the Summer Time Act was established as a means to save energy by creating longer days.

Enjoy your extra hour on Sunday, however you spend it!
