Fabergé in London: Romance to Revolution at the V&A

An exciting new exhibition opened at the V&A on Saturday, entitled Fabergé in London: Romance to Revolution. This major retrospective explores Fabergé’s work with particular focus on his popularity in England (which resulted in a store being opened in London’s New Bond Street). Exhibition highlights include pieces created for the British royal family and in the final exhibition room you will be treated to the most spectacular display of Fabergé eggs. Curator Kieran McCarthy explains “When people come I hope they will be taken by the beauty of the objects, and also the joy… These were expressions of whimsy, happiness, beauty and craftsmanship wrapped up in one.” Hailed by the Evening Standard as “a neatly put-together show that highlights not just Peter Carl Fabergé’s glorious creative vision but also the genuinely stratospheric heights to which his artists and artisans rose in the pursuit of beauty – that actually blows your mind.”, we can’t wait to go and see for ourselves!

The exhibition runs until 8 May 2022.
