London’s tradition of seasonal lights began in the winter of 1954 in Regent Street which is still the home to the most stunning displays.
Our capital really does look especially beautiful bedecked for the festive season, and this week sees the start of the 2023 lights being switched on:
- Oxford Street (2 November)
- Carnaby Street (2 November)
- Covent Garden (7 November)
- Regent Street (9 November)
- St James’s (9 November)
- Marylebone Village (9 November)
- Kew Gardens (15 November)
- Belgravia (15 November)
- Mayfair (16 November)
- Savile Row (16 November)
- Chelsea (18 November)
- Trafalgar Square (7 December)
These displays will remain until the twelfth night (6 January), in keeping with tradition.
