An exhibition of Gucci’s 102-year history of design has opened at 180 Studios on The Strand. Running until 31 December, the retrospective explores Gucci’s iconic style.
The interactive show space begins with a recreation of the Savoy’s lobby, a nod to Guccio Gucci’s job as a porter there in the 1890s which inspired Gucci’s signature luggage range, which leads to a further eight immersive installations. The history of the fashion house is traced under the lead of creative directors past and present including Tom Ford, Frida Giannini, Alessandro Michele and Sabato De Sarno.
The exhibition has been designed by British artist Es Devlin and curated by fashion theorist Maria Luisa Frisa.
