As the warm weather continues into September, offering us a beautiful Indian Summer, we are also very much looking forward to some Indian performances in London this autumn.
Proud Cabaret (located at Proud City near the Tower of London) is currently hosting Mumbai Masala: A Bollywood Spectacular. Created by the award-winning writers of Taj Express and Merchants of Bollywood, with choreography by The Poojary Brothers and starring Sadhwi Majumder, Arif Zakaria and Sushant Pujari, the show promises to be “a dazzling new immersive theatrical spectacular”.
At Sadler’s Wells Theatre, Disco Dancer: The Musical will be performed from 16 until 20 November. Based on the wonderful 1982 film Disco Dancer, it offers you an evening full of nostalgia, amazing costumes, elaborate sets and high energy dance routines.
You may also be interested to see Silence at the Donmar Warehouse, which is running until 17 September. An adaptation of Kavita Puri’s book Partition Voices: Untold British Stories, Silence recounts the personal testimonies of those who lived through the 1947 partition of the Indian subcontinent.
Last week, our managing director Aude and her son Leon enjoyed the fabulous Beyond Bollywood show at the Sadler’s Wells; we really are extremely lucky with the selection of entertainment that London has to offer.
