A fascinating new exhibition will be opening at the Young V&A on Saturday 14 October which will run until 11 August 2024.
Japan: Myths to Manga will explore how folklore and the landscape have influenced Japanese art, design and technology. The exhibition has been organised by the themes of Sky, Sea, Forest and City and will look at the evolution of ideas through over 150 historic and contemporary objects. There will also be hands-on activities to inspire young minds.
Highlights of the exhibition include works by Hiroshige, examples from Studio Ghibli, Noritaka Tatehana and Ryūkо̄bо̄’s incredible shoe design and a focus on the extremely popular Pokémon and Hello Kitty franchises.
