Today sees the launch of the Moco Museum, a major new art museum situated in the heart of London.
The Moco Museum brand
The brainchild of Kim and Lionel Logchies, the Moco Museum was established as a place to celebrate modern (MO) and contemporary (CO) art, including street art and digital, immersive pieces. It states its mission is: “to awaken the world to the inspirational power of art.” With thriving premises in Amsterdam and Barcelona which have attracted over 5 million visitors, plans were made in October 2023 to open a flagship museum in central London.
Moco Museum London
Moco Museum London is situated at 1-4 Marble Arch, a fine 1920s building with a façade retaining its original charm.
Its collection contains works by Warhol, Basquiat, Haring, Kusama, Koons, Hirst, Emin, KAWS, Picasso, Pilar Zeta, Six N.Five and Don Diablo, to name but a few.
Photos (taken without flash) are permitted and visitors are encouraged to share their images on social media, tagging @mocomuseum. Speaking to The Guardian, Lionel Logchies enthused: “Instagram is happening all over other museums. It’s the new era we’re in. People post on Instagram in every museum and it’s good for us because it brings more people in.”
In the heart of London, it has excellent transport connections and a good selection of amenities in the locality.
Moco Museum London is an accessible venue; please refer to their website or contact them directly for further information.
Its opening hours are 9am to 9pm every day.
