Yesterday (Tuesday 17 May), Queen Elizabeth II officially opened the Elizabeth line. Passengers will be able to use the new route, which traverses the capital from Heathrow and Reading in the west to Abbey Wood and Shenfield in the east, from Tuesday 24 May.
It will run through the Mayfair area of London, stopping at Bond Street (which is also on the Central and Jubilee lines). We are absolutely delighted that it will make journeying to and around London even easier for our guests.
Lovers of design may be interested to know that the new route’s colour is regal purple and that Wallace Sewell designed the linear moquette (the stripes referencing both the efficiency of the service and the pin-striped attire of city workers).
