Reduced Quarantine Period from 15 December

The government has announced that, from 15 December, visitors arriving in England from a country not on the travel corridor list will be able to greatly reduce their quarantine period if, after five days of self-isolation, they take a private Covid test which returns a negative result. Results can be expected to be available between 24 and 48 hours which means visitors could be released from quarantine six days after arrival.

The Secretary of State for Transport, Grant Shapps, said: “Our new testing strategy will allow us to travel more freely, see loved ones and drive international business. By giving people the choice to test on day five, we are also supporting the travel industry as it continues to rebuild out of the pandemic.”

This is very welcome news. We are extremely lucky to have a chemist offering tests just 2 minutes from Hertford Street and we would like to support our guests by obtaining any tests required. We are also able to arrange delivery of groceries to you during your quarantine period. Contact us ahead of your journey so that we can organise anything you need for the duration of your stay.
