We are really excited about the launch of Soho Place, the first new-build theatre to open in London’s West End for fifty years. With an exceptional design focussed upon accessibility, it really is a theatre for all (WhatsOnStage describe it as “a gorgeous, accessible space with a lovely downstairs restaurant, a wealth of toilets, easily useable lifts and more.” – perfect!).
The curved auditorium (which takes 602 patrons) offers the best possible views from all seats, and vibration-free acoustics, for the most comfortable theatre experience. Incredibly, each seat is no further than six rows from the stage, which really makes you feel physically absorbed into the show.
The interior was inspired by the open-air Greek Theatre of Epidaurus; it is absolutely beautiful (be sure to look up to the lights forming constellations too).
Marvellous, the theatre’s first show, will be running until 26 November. It will be followed by As You Like It (6 December – 28 January) and Medea (11 February – 22 April).
