Tomorrow marks the opening day of the Royal Academy’s Summer Exhibition, one of the most anticipated dates in London’s art calendar, and this year a staggering 1,462 works will be on display. The annual show, which has run without interruption since 1769, is a fabulous forum for both established and emerging artists to display and sell their latest creations. This year’s curator is Alison Wilding RA who has chosen the climate theme. Awarded four stars in their review, The Times comment: “it shows us what’s important. And that matters a lot.”
We are so incredibly lucky to have Burlington House, the home of the Royal Academy, so nearby. It’s an absolute joy to pop along and peruse these new works. Highly recommended!
