A fantastic new immersive exhibition – Vogue: Inventing the Runway – has just opened at the Lightroom and will run until 26 April 2025.
About
Vogue: Inventing the Runway, co-produced with Vogue, charts the development of the fashion show. Starting with couture salons from the early twentieth century, the exhibition explores the development of presenting haute couture on stage, taking us to the bold, creatives events of today and considering what we may see in future shows.
The exhibition delves into Vogue’s extensive archives and has been enriched with contributions from the fashion industry’s key figures.
Designed by 59 Productions and directed by Mark Grimmer, the immersive show places visitors in the front row and behind the scenes, using the four walls of the Lightroom as a 360-degree canvas.
Anna Wintour, global editorial director at Vogue, explains: “At Vogue, we’ve been lucky enough over the decades to see many incredible runway shows, which have often told the story of fashion as much as the clothes themselves… This Lightroom experience is a wonderful opportunity for a lot more people to experience first-hand the thrill of watching the history of fashion unfold right in front of them.”
Getting there
Lightroom can be reached by taking the Victoria line or the Piccadilly line from Green Park to King’s Cross.
